Product Information

A fascinating and delicious vegetable! When raw the flesh is solid but when cooked it falls away from the skin in ribbons or strands like spaghetti. The quickest way to cook is to cut the squash in half and cook it face down in a baking dish. You can add a little water to the pan or cover it with foil to speed up the cooking process and prevent the squash from drying out. Bake in a moderate oven for around 30 minutes, or until tender. Remove the seeds and discard. The flesh with fall away from the skin in delicate spaghetti like strands, toss with a little butter or olive oil and salt. The taste is delicate and mild and is fantastic paired with sauces or a richly seasoned winter ragu.
