Robinson Farms
Robinson Farms is a third generation family farm located in West Melton. They are currently running sheep and growing potatoes, peas, barley, lucerne and grass seed.
For many years they grew only enough potatoes to supply the extended family but from the early 90’s started growing larger areas to supply local and export markets. Robinson Farms follow a ten year crop-livestock rotation system which helps to break up disease and pest issues and ensures they are not depleting the same nutrients from the soil year after year. The potatoes are mechanically weeded with minimal use of sprays. The free draining soils grow a light coloured skin on the potatoes with a nice flavour.
